Homebruin Cup VII

Registration for this year’s Homebruin Cup is now open! If you are receiving this email, you are eligible to enter. All the details can be found here: http://tvh.brewcomp.com

If you are interested in participating as a judge or steward, head on over to the competition website and get registered. As usual, we will need all the help we can get.

Get those entires registered too. Judges and stewards are welcome to submit entries. Deadline is 5/13 but register early and often. Each entry is only $5! Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners at each table. NEW this year: the club will be awarding a commemorative custom tap handle (picture coming soon) for the overall Best Of Show Winner. This won’t be a traveling trophy. Win it and it’s yours to keep.
We’ve seen an increase in the number of entries several years running now and I hope the trend continues. These club-only competitions are a bunch of fun. Plus we get to keep all the love in house.

Homebruin Cup V Results

Thanks to everyone that made the 2015 Homebruin Cup a success. We had over 30 total participants this year! For the second year in a row Michael Caylor took Best Of Show honors. The winning beer was an English Mild that clocked in at only 3.8% ABV. Runner up was a Hefeweizen brewed by Christopher Long. Congratulations to them and to all the other medalists. Full results are posted here.

Learn To Homebrew Day

Thanks to everyone in the club that made the Learn To Homebrew Day event such a great success. Casual Pint Hardin Valley was a phenomenal host on a day where the weather was anything but cooperative. We persevered through the cold and brewed a batch of Nut Brown Ale and an Irish Red Ale with about 30 people in attendance.

I can’t wait to sample the fruits of our labors! Check back here for details in the coming weeks.
